On the evening of August 26, 2010, about 8:10 pm, there was a sighting of a monstrous bird in South Greensburg, PA. Just as it was getting dark, four people were sitting around in the yard having a barbecue and enjoying the beautiful weather when suddenly, their attention was drawn skyward by a sound like a “swish” or a “swoosh” or as one witness stated, “like air coming straight down.”

Several of the observers at almost the same time yelled out some exclamations including one man who said, “What the hell is that?” They were all startled to see a tremendously large bird that was flying over a tree in the yard about 30-40 feet overhead. The man who was doing the cooking turned and looked up to see the creature fly above him at a distance of about 40 feet away. As the bird passed the tree, it veered slightly to the right and went straight down the road ahead, maintaining its low level path.

When first observed, the massive wings of the creature were in an upward position and were beginning to drop slowly, almost as if they were rolling to the bottom. The swoosh sound could be heard when the wings were moving. The powerful bird had flown about 125 yards down the road, at which time the wings were coming back up. The creature was observed as it continued to move steadily down the road, passing just above the roof top of a house with its wings flapping slowly and steadily about 3-4 time until it reached a group of trees about ¼ mile away, where it was lost from sight. It took about 20 seconds to go the ¼ mile distance.

I interviewed two of the witnesses at the scene and they were able to provide a detailed description of the giant flying creature. As it passed over, it appeared as though it was peering below, with its head and beak positioned downward. It was estimated that if the bird was on the ground it would stand between 4 ½ to 5 feet tall. The entire body was the same dark color, either darkish brown or black. The body width was about 25-30 inches wide. One witness said the body, “was very bulky and husky.”

Five former military personnel have come forward to reveal that they worked at the secretive Area 51 testing facility. While stationed at Area 51 they claimed they worked on top secret CIA and military projects including a supersonic jet that could travel at three times the speed of sound.

The appearance and flight performance of the top secret OXCART program led it to being often mistaken as a UFO according to the whistleblowers. A Los Angeles Times article with their testimonies concluded that the UFO mystery has been solved. Before celebrating the solution of the UFO mystery, it’s worth considering some information that the LA Times article did not.

The LA Times article, “The Road to Area 51″ was written by investigative author, Annie Jacobsen. She was able to interview the five retired military personnel due to a 2007 CIA decision to declassify fifty year old files concerning the OXCART or A-12 spy plane. This allowed the five to come forward for the first time to reveal their former classified activities.

All revealed their roles in the CIA’s top secret development and testing of the OXCART as Lockheed’s replacement for the U-2 for intelligence gathering flights over the Soviet Union. Satellites were still in development at the time so spy planes like the OXCART and U2 were a way of secretly gathering intelligence of Soviet operations. If a 1997 CIA History is to be believed, the UFO mystery was exploited as a convenient cover for spy planes like the U-2 and OXCART.

There is however a problem with this – thousands of UFO reports predate the OXCART project. Reports from the 1940′s and 50′s describe advanced performance UFO’s. They described objects moving froma very low to very high speed, at times also hanging motionless in the air. No other aircraft could do anything like this at the time.

Another problem is that there are hundreds of other credible witnesses to secret UFO projects, as well as crashed UFO recovery – such as the Roswell incident. Can we discount all their testimony on the word of these five?

Could the US government be using this as a means to cover-up the UFO phenomena even more? After all, any new sightings could just be explained away as just another classified project.

LA Times: The Road to Area 51

An Unidentified Flying Object was supposedly seen by a number of people at the Gateway of India in Mumbai on Thursday. Video was also supposedly taken of the mysterious object and posted on Youtube.

The video shows a strange object coming out of nowhere, remaining in view for some seconds before vanishing again.

Personally I feel that the video looks totally fake. Here it is for you to decide:

The problem is that many people have come forward to say they have seen the UFO. Inevitably this raises a number of questions: Did people actually see something, or is it just a case of people just trying to get their 2 minutes of fame? Is this a fake video put up to discredit a real sighting?

One Mumbai resident told media: “There is another world beyond the earth and the sighting of UFOs confirms this.”

Another resident was not as enthusiastic: “UFO sighting in Mumbai? Guess someone had too much free time. How can someone possibly spot a UFO in the city filled with smoke, smoke and more smoke?.”
