A wave of paranormal and mysterious episodes in the town have helped usher in a new decade of spooky sightings, with readers encountering UFOs and wild wolves in the first week of the year.
The area has a long standing association with paranormal activity – with websites across the World recording spooky incidents in the area.
Resident, Jane McNally, recently had a run-in with a mysterious canine creature while out walking with her partner on Cannock Chase.
“I was walking with my partner and his dog,” Jane said.
“We put the dog back on the lead as we thought in the distance there was an enormous ‘dog.’ As we approached the animal we realised this wasn’t a dog and it just stared at us for a while – I said I thought it looked like a fox, but the size of a lioness – it then turned into the wooded area, and we proceeded to walk on.
“As it turned its long, bushy black tipped tail, we realised it was definitely not a dog.
“I have just logged onto the net and went onto images of wolves, and can honestly say whatever we saw yesterday was the closet thing to a wolf.”

It is a cold October morning, the skies overhead are a brooding mass of dark grey clouds.
I am standing on a playing field in the village of Cymau on the Flintshire-Wrexham border with renowned supernatural writer and editor of Paranormal Magazine Richard Holland.
We are next to a small playing area and behind us is thick undergrowth beneath a line of trees.
A few years ago on this very spot, a group of youngsters from the area witnessed something very strange indeed and – as Richard’s research revealed – they are not the only ones to have seen what some described as a werewolf.

“It was just beginning to get dark when they heard a crashing in the undergrowth. What they saw, they described as a dishevelled man hunched over an animal.

Down in the Province of Entre Rios, Argentina, a strange creature is lurking. Is this just a large Chupacabra, or is it something else entirely.
This strange creature appears in smallholdings and fields, slaying farm animals, as well as calves and sheep. The people became so scared that this creature caught the attention of the Argentinian national news.
The entity started its reign of terror around September last year when a local family found a dead chicken. Near the body was a large footprint in the dust and strange marks were all around the body.
The family, who know the area and it’s animals very well, did not recognize the marks, much less the footprints. It did not belong to any animal that they know in the area.
The following night, early in the morning, the heard noises and their son, Matias saw a bizarre figure scrambling away into the vegetation behind their house. He described the figure as at least 1.7 meters tall and extremely quick moving.
