A California scientist and licensed pilot reports a silent, “triangular, delta-shaped pattern of four lights” that blocked out the stars on June 13, 2009, as it passed overhead, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

“It crossed from the zenith to the local skyline which here is about 30 degrees up or so as we are at the bottom of a hill where it passed out of view,” the witness stated. “It flew much faster than the large jetliners which fly a similar approach path into San Jose.”

The sighting was most unusual due to the silence.

“What really struck me about it was that it was absolutely silent, meaning it would have had to be extremely high or if a low flying aircraft be extremely quiet.”

The witness tried to rule out other man made objects.

“If it was a formation of low earth orbiting satellites it was remarkable in the fact that it would have that particular arrangement, and it shouldn’t have blocked out the stars. If it was some sort of experimental airship, I imagine it should be much noisier if it was flying low enough to appear that large and move that rapidly. It did not appear to display any other unusual characteristics other than it’s apparent size and rapidity, nor did it deviate from an apparently straight flight path.”

Recently, the local media and the local and foreign internet community were abuzz with the news of an UFO (unidentified flying object) sighting at a serene beach resort near the city of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah.

According to the press reports, the sightings of the round blue silent flying object in the sky were witnessed by many locals and tourists. Apparently some of the people who witnessed this UFO even claimed that their handphone ‘went dead’ mysteriously when they tried to record the moments of the UFO with their device.

Ufologists (researchers studying on UFOs) describe UFO as sightings of an object or light seen in the sky or land whose appearance, trajectory, actions, motions, lights and colors do not have a logical, conventional or natural explanation.

Sightings of UFOs in Malaysia have been reported by the local media on and off over many years. The first recorded sighting of an UFO apparently took place in 1950s in Malaysia. Subsequently there have been many reports emerging in the press around the Asian region. However all these sightings remain just as another newspaper report and I have not heard of the authorities making any attempt to investigate these sightings to validate the claims.

In the recent UFO sighting at the Tuaran Beach Resort in Sabah, the police according to press reports, did not undertake any investigations over the incident which created somewhat of a stir in the community. It was also reported in the press that police did not conduct any investigations on the UFO sighting as there were no police reports on the matter. Is a police report a necessity for an investigation of this nature?

Today marks the 58th anniversary of a bizarre wave of UFO sightings in Washington D.C. that wrapped up on July 27, 1952.

Also known as the “Washington flap”, the sightings took place over two-week period, most notably July 19/20 and July 26/27.

Unlike the recent China UFO sighting, these objects in 1952 were detected on radar in two places: Washington National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base. The objects reportedly reached speeds of up to 7,200 mph. (Yes, 7,200 mph. That is not a typo.)

The U.S. Air Force Air Defense Command was notified of what was occurring in the skies over Washington. Several F-94 night fliers began their pursuits of the objects on the radar. The resulting pursuits proved to be frustrating. When the planes lifted off, the UFOs disappeared. When the planes landed, the UFOs reappeared. When the planes would see the objects in the distance, the objects would disappear as the plane approached.

However, there were times when the UFOs didn’t disappear. As one pilot stated: “They’ve surrounded my plane, what should I do?”

It wasn’t only military planes that interacted with the UFOs. Two passenger flights within a several hour period had contact with the objects.

At 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th, a National Airlines pilot and flight attendant observed strange objects above the plane. The radars at National Airport and Andrews AFB tracked these and more objects.

In the early hours of July 27th, at 3:00 a.m, an Eastern Airlines flight over Washington was informed that an unknown object was in its vicinity, yet the crew saw nothing unusual. Personnel on the ground tracked the object on radar. When the flight crew was told that the object had moved directly behind their plane, the crew began a sharp turn to see for themselves.

When the plane began to turn, the object disappeared from both the sky and the radar.

As well attracting throngs of tourists on cheap flights to Larnaca each year, Cyprus is also becoming a bit of a hot-spot for UFO sightings. This has given rise to the cheeky notion from locals that the island is so beautiful that it even attracts visitors from out of this world.

A couple of weeks ago, there was numerous sightings of an orange light passing slowly through the sky before apparently drifting over a hill, only to be seen by other holidaymakers and locals further down the coast.
“It was beautiful and mesmerizing”

Even the party crowd in Ayia Napa claimed to see a similar orange object hanging in the air. One onlooker, enjoying a holiday in Cyprus, said:

“It was beautiful and mesmerizing. It was fairly high in the sky and moved with no sound, it also had a beautiful white aura.”

There has been a notable increase in UFO sightings on the island in recent years with many people escaping to the Troodos Mountains, for some adventure and shade, claiming to see UFO’s in the sky.
