Wednesday was a hotbed of psychic activity as readings poured in from all over the country from psychics warning that “something big” is coming down the pike. They could not hone in on exactly what it was, but said “it is big, really big.”

Reporters were asking all the right questions, but the psychics were very vague. “Is it another volcanic eruption?” asked one reporter. “Could be,” replied one psychic. “Could there be another terrorist attempt on Americans?” asked another reporter. “I am thinking that it might be something big like that, but maybe not specifically that,” replied another psychic.

In all, thirty or so psychics gave their impressions of the vibrations they felt strongly during the noon hour on Wednesday. One psychic who is particularly sensitive to seismic activity said that she felt that sometime in the near future, there was going to be another earthquake, but when asked where it would be and how strong it would be, all she could tell us was that it was going to be big, maybe not big like the one in Haiti, but maybe bigger than the one in Chile; she just couldn’t say.

2010, only four month old, and already the year has shewn us: wonders from the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

It’s more than a bit unnerving, this cluster of extreme events, especially given the scientific evidence that the global climate is changing due in large part to human degradation of Earth’s environment. Mother Earth is putting us on notice: Change or die, puny humans.

Of course, not everyone “believes” that climate change is man made. Many seem to think that scientific studies are just “elitist” opinions. You know, like evolution. According to a 2005 Pew Poll, a shockingly high number–42 percent–of Americans believe that “humans and other living things had existed in their present form since the beginning of time.” Using the same rationale, they’ve now decided that Earth–or at least humans–have fallen out of favor with the Creator and we’ve reached The End of Days prophesied in the Bible.

As the year draws to a close, we are inevitably drawn to predictions of the year ahead, but seldom do we look at the predictions of things that should have taken place over the previous year.

Livescience’s Benjamin Radford has drawn up a list of predictions that did not come true for 2008. Here they are:

1) Locust Swarms Destroy Wheat Crops

2) Top U.S. General in Iraq Killed; Troops Return

3) Supervolcano Spews Ash Across Globe

4) Beloved Entertainer Dies in Stunt Tomfoolery

5) Global Famine Kills Millions

The only one which in most ominous and could possibly happen is number 3.

Over the last few weeks, there have been odd earthquakes and rumblings at Yellowstone National Park. For those who don’t know, Yellowstone sits on top of an active caldera which last erupted about 640 000 years ago. Experts reckon that if it blows, it will be a super-volcano!
