The Brazilian glasnost on UFOs is starting to get embarrassingly endearing. Can you imagine if the Roswell thing had happened in Sao Paulo instead. It’d be like Hey, y’all come check out this crashed thingamajig — isn’t this the butt-ugliest flight crew you’ve ever seen? Wonder how these ray guns work?
Seriously. Of all the countries declassifying UFO material, Brazil wins the Most Fun To Watch Award, bar none. Last year, Brazilian UFO Magazine Editor A.J. Gevaerd got his hands on some military docs detailing the nationwide incursions on May 19, 1986. Jet interceptors were rendered obsolete in the blink of an eye, and the incident became so famous it’s become known as Brazilian Official UFO Night.
Most impressive was the candor advanced by one Air Brigadier Jose Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque: “As a conclusion of the observed constant facts in almost all presentations, it is the opinion of this Command that the phenomenon is solid and reflects intelligence by its capacity to follow and sustain distance from the observers, as well as to fly in formation, and are not necessarily manned craft.”

The population of Córrego Salgado and Alegre, city of Itarema, [Ceará, Brazil], have been seeing in the last few days the visitation of a UFO that has been spreading panic. According to witnesses, the object usually flies over around at 6PM. Ufologist José Agobar is currently visiting Itarema and talking with witnesses that saw the object and analyzing possible evidence”.
A child who witnessed the UFO was victim of perforations and underwent surgery. The boy suffered a cut that has taken nine stitches. Professor José Agobar alerted the local population to take care because new UFOs could appear. According to Agobar, this phenomenon repeats itself every 10 years.
The boy, 6-years-old, was attacked near his own house. Despite his young age, he tells by himself the story that he saw a “burning star” over the Moon that suddenly stopped burning and landed. From it, two creatures came out and tried to grab him. Luckily, due to a barbed wire in which the creatures apparently entangled themselves, the boy managed to escape. But not before one of the creatures got something like a knife from its mouth and “poked” (that’s the word used by the boy, “cutucar” in Portuguese) him.

Construction worker Odair José Berti, 35, got home feeling very tired after a hard day of work. He decided that he would go to bed early and try and get a good nights sleep. He did … until he woke up on top of a rock, 1000 feet in the air!
What followed was a risky rescue operation which saw firefighters trying to get him off the rock in a 12 hour operation. According to the firefighters, access to the top of the rock is extremely difficult, even with the use of proper equipment.
After being rescued, Odair, clad only in shirt, shorts and sandals, was checked by medical personnel. Although hungry and thirsty, he did not have a scratch on his body – virtually impossible if he had climbed the rock himself. Rescue workers were covered in scratches and bruises by the time they rescued him.
