Khagendra Thapa Magar is now officially the world’s shortest man. His favourite present was given to him by his father – a toy drum. He loves playing traditional Nepalese dance beats on it.
His birthday was celebrated with his family, a horde of international press, doctors and the special guests – the officials from the Guinness Book of World Records.
After measuring his height, they declared the 26.4 inches or 2ft 2.41in man as officially the shortest man in the world.
‘I am very happy and excited,’ said Khagendra,’I don’t consider myself to be a small man. I’m a big man.’
The news comes only five weeks after Guinness World Records recognized Colombia’s Edward ‘Nino’ Hernandez as the record holder – which makes his reign as world’s shortest man the shortest in history.
