Some that claim to have seen visions of the future are ignored, while others have gained respect. One of the most well known Frenchman Nostradamus earned a reputation for being a seer that published collections of prophecies. This article will share interesting facts about the seer.
There is two birth dates for Nostradamus (who was born with the last name of Nostredame: December 14 and December 21, 1503. He was born in Saint-Remy de Provence, which is located in the south of France. He was one of at least nine children.

When Nostradamus was 15 years old, he started school at the University of Avignon to receive a bachelors degree. However, he was forced to leave the school because the university had stopped teaching – an outbreak of the plague was to blame. After leaving Avignon, Nostradamus claims that he traveled the countryside for eight years. He spent his time researching herbal remedies.
After spending years as an apothecary (a medical professional), Nostradamus started school at the University of Montpellier, where he studied to receive a doctorate in medicine. He was expelled within a short amount of time when it was learned that he had been an apothecary, which had been banned by the university statutes. The document stating his expulsion can be found to this day at the faculty library.
