Perhaps it was caused by a close encounter of the 3-D kind.

This sophisticated crop circle uses an optical illusion to give the impression of a three dimensional cube.

The creators of the 200ft wide design in a field of wheat at Clay Hill near Warminster, Wiltshire remain a mystery.

The area is known as the UFO capital of Britain after repeated sightings of unearthly objects and numerous crop circle appearances over the last few decades.

However, those hoping that the mysterious circle is a message from another world or a sign of a spacecraft landing are likely to disappointed.

Over a decade ago pranksters Doug Bower and Dave Chorley admitted that they had created 200 crop circles mostly around Warminster.

Mr Bower explained that after sketching them out in his studio workshop they would take a plank and rope to a cornfield where they would walk around with the rope in ever-increasing circles and make a passageway leading to another identical circle.

Not that this very down to earth explanation halted wild conjecture about their origins.

The crop circle phenomenon started in Westbury, just three miles north of Warminster in August 1980 and last month 200 crop circles have appeared in one elaborate formation in the nearby village of Mere.

Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou in Eastern China was reportedly closed for four hours after a large, brightly lighted aerial object of unknown origin was seen and photographed. The People’s Daily Online in its July 9, 2010, English edition, quoted an unnamed airport spokesman, “Some flights were rerouted to airports in the cities of Ningbo and Wuxi. A source with knowledge of the matter told China Daily on Thursday that authorities had learned what the UFO was – after an investigation. But it was not the proper time to publicly disclose the information because there was a military connection, he said, adding that an official explanation is expected to be given on Friday, July 9.”

Further on July 10, 2010, OneIndia.com in New Delhi reported that an employee at Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou said the July 7, 2010, strange aerial object did not show up on the airport’s radar. “We should first find out how the craft owner got the approval to fly the object – even a fire balloon needs to get the authority’s permission before lifting off.” So far no official explanation has been given.

Now today on July 13, Neil Gould with Exopolitics Hong Kong sent me the following email and alleged photographs of the same aerial phenomenon over Hangzhou that closed the Xiaoshan Airport.

Russian fishermen are demanding a probe into a creature resembling the Loch Ness monster in a remote Siberian lake.

Locals say that ‘Nesski’ has devoured anglers who have been pulled into the murky waters of Lake Chany from their boats.

Those claiming to have glimpsed the creature say it resembles the classic long-necked image of Scotland’s fabled monster. It has also been called ‘snake-like’, while other accounts suggest a large fin and huge tail.

The latest mysterious death of a 59-year-old man last week has fuelled demands for a proper probe into what lurks beneath the surface of Chany, one of Russia’s largest freshwater lakes.

‘I was with my friend… some 300 yards from the shore,’ said 60-year-old Vladimir Golishev. ”He hooked something huge on his bait, and he stood up in the boat to reel it in.

‘But it pulled with such force that he overturned the boat. I was in shock – I had never seen anything like it in my life.

‘I pulled off my clothes and swam for the shore, not daring hope I would make it.’

He said his friend was pulled under the surface, a description in common with earlier incidents.
