“Do UFOs appear over El Cajon, California, every Fourth of July? Some witnesses are saying “yes.” Two reports of this year’s lights are described by witnesses from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
This 2005 report from the National UFO Reporting Center claims that witnesses then were seeing them for the third year in a row.
One witness posted a photograph of the lights at the Flickr.com web site as they formed a triangle. The only description here was, “Red lights in the sky of La Mesa/El Cajon, CA during the evening of July 4, 2009. I am unsure what these lights were. I think there were around 4-5 red lights. “”

I know what you’re thinking. We were all thinking it also. But with multiple reports received in the newsroom it would be irresponsible to not at least acknowledge the reports and to do a little digging.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, Brian Haddock was left more than curious at what he and his children saw traveling from the west over the lake.
“I know it’s 4th of July, but this was big enough that the kids thought it was an airplane crashing,” said Haddock. “It traveled from east to west and just about began on one horizon and ended on the western horizon.”
Haddock wasn’t alone. Brent Widener also saw the object and described it as a “glowing circle, flying close to the ground.”"

Grace Robinson, 50, of Wheelers Way, Little Eversden, contacted the News to ask if anyone else had seen the blindingly bright white light that flew over her home on July 2 at about 11.20pm.
Mrs Robinson said: “I have a lung condition and haven’t been out of the house much recently, but I’d just stepped out into the front garden for a bit of peace and quiet when this light suddenly appeared out of nowhere.”
