In 1893, Chicago, Illinois was host to a spectacular World’s Fair — The Columbian Exposition — that celebrated the anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of America. It was a boom time for the city and thousands of people came from all over the country to attend.

Unfortunately though, the list of those “gone missing” at the end of the fair was extensive and as the police later tried to track down where these people had vanished to — the trail turned cold on the south side of Chicago.

Everything was not as shiny and beautiful as the advertising for the Exposition’s “White City” would have everyone believe, for “a devil” that became known as America’s first real serial killer was alive and well on the city’s south side, luring visitors to his “hotel”, where scores of them vanished without a trace — never to be seen again.

Something strange is lurking around the new Royal Derby Hospital in England. Something so strange that the management have been forced to call in an excorcist.

Various staff members have reported spotting a cloaked figure roaming the wards and corridors of the hospital. According to NHS bosses, they are calling in the exorcist to help as the staff were becoming uneasy at work.

The hospital was built on the old Derby Hospital which in turn was built in 1920 over an old Roman road. Many sites built on or near to these roads report ghostly apparitions and unexplained hauntings.

The exorcism will probably be conducted by a priest of the Anglican church.

Last Tuesday the grizzly remains of a strange creature washed ashore at Croyde Bay near Exmoor, England.

The beast was described as being as big as a calf but with ‘massive’ canine teeth. It appeared that the carcass had the remains of a tail and hair was found in the debris.

As the carcass washed ashore in North Devon, just a few miles from Exmoor, people began wondering whether the creature was that of the infamous ‘Beast of Exmoor’ which is said to roam the countryside. The ‘Beast of Exmoor’ is said to be a puma-like cat which people have been reporting since the 1970′s.

In 1983 about 100 sheep were found mauled and intriguing photos and sightings soon followed, but the beast was never positively identified. Since then, sheep and other livestock have mysteriously disappeared or slaughtered across Exmoor, all without any firm identification of the beast.

Locals believe that the carcass could be the beast which may have drifted down from Exmoor which is only about 5 miles away by sea. However a forensic examination of the carcass has positively identified the carcass, not as a big cat, but something entirely different.
