In the heart of the West Midlands of England is a place called Cannock Chase. This place, near Stafford has a long history of strange happenings and weird sightings.

In recent times, sightings of werewolf, bigfoot and other strange creatures abound. Witnesses include people like the local post man, ex-police officers, military personnel, police and even a scout master.

Most recently a group of shocked people reported seeing a hairy, wolf-like creature at a local beauty spot. this has not been the first time that people have reported seeing such a beast.

For years people have reported the mysterious disappearances of their pets – especially dogs being lost near the old German War Cemetery. Could something be eating them?

A local resident has come forward with a unique idea. Maybe all these sightings are of the same creature – a Stone Age throwback who lives below the chase.

This is not as far fetched as it first seems.

For centuries civilizations around the world have talked about people who live beneath the earth. The most famous of these underground civilizations are Agartha and Shamballa, whose names appear in old Vedic scriptures. Even Death Valley in the USA is reputed to have a hidden civilization hiding beneath it.

Cannock Chase has been mined for many centuries and most of these mines have been long forgotten. The area has had human inhabitants from before the iron age and even today you can see the remains of an ancient Iron Age fort on the Chase.

Could it be possible that people moved underground centuries ago and become a race of hairy creatures? Could these creatures have discovered a way back to the surface and now come out at night to forage for food?

Many people scoff at the idea that an entire civilization could remain undetected below the feet of an advanced civilization, but in our strange world I prefer to think that anything could be possible.
